The Hotel "la
mer"
is situated at a slope amongst a tropical garden and forest, about 40m
above sea level. The magnificent view of the sea and the islands is a
perfect
scenery for a relaxed drink, an excellent dinner or for a sunbath as
well.
The rooms are
spacious,
nicely decorated and overview the sea. The friendly staff will take
care
of all your wishes.
Below the hotel
there are two sandy beaches, swimming is also possible at low tide.
Snorklers
will be impressed by the colorful underwater world and the turtles of
the
coral reef.
Our "own" family
of Lemurs is coming close to the hotel very often. This species can be
found only in the northwest area of Madagascar. Have a look at Animals.
The hotel consist of the main building, two bungalows and a family bungalow. In the main building you can find the bar, the restaurant and three guest rooms. Each room / bungalow has private bathroom and WC. Beginning season 2005 (April) we will have warm water (solar heated) in the bathrooms.
La Douany is not connected to the electricity network, so we start the well insulated generator at dawn until approx. 22.00h. In the main building we have a solar energy for light during the night.
